Greek bread is a hard, crisp biscuit with cinnamon. Despite the name it has nothing to do with Greece: it's a Brussels speciality, and the name pain à la grecque is said to go back to a corruption of the Brussels Wolvengracht, where the biscuit was traditionally baked. The biscuit is deliberately hard and dry, which makes it particularly suited to dunking in coffee or tea. The cinnamon gives the warm spice that sets it apart from other dry biscuits.
