Dentelles

Ghent lace biscuits are wafer-thin biscuits with caramelised almonds, and one of the most typical delicacies of our city. The dough is spread so thin that it spreads during baking into a lace-like pattern with small holes, from which the biscuit takes its French name dentelle. That thinness makes it extremely crisp: it breaks at the slightest pressure. Lace biscuits are classically served with coffee and belong to the image of Ghent as the cuberdon does. Contains nuts.
