Madonna marshmallows are soft coloured marshmallows shaped like Our Lady. The shape goes back to the time when sweets were sold around pilgrimages and church feasts, and the figure of the Virgin was one of the most recognisable a confectioner could cast. The marshmallow mass is beaten until light and airy, so the sweet almost melts on the tongue. They're made with gelatine and are therefore not vegan, unlike most of our range.
